This collaboration analyzes the spatial mechanics of the disability-to-prison pipeline, demonstrating how service deserts, punitive school discipline, and carceral urban design concentrate surveillance and police contact among Black students and students of color. Through joint work by Conflict Urbanism students, the Center for Spatial Research, the Legal Aid Society, and Fordham Law students, we integrate maps, records, and testimonies to reveal the cumulative effects of policy and place, and to identify points of leverage for care-based alternatives over punishment.
